The 26th Annual S.A.D.D. "Strides for Safety" is a 5K Run/Walk which raises awareness and funds to help our students make healthy and responsible choices
S.A.D.D. "Strides for Safety"
Plan to join us at our 26th Annual S.A.D.D "Strides for Safety" 5K Run/Walk. This event is held rain or shine. We proudly host exhibitors at our S.A.D.D. Strides for Safety Health Fair, located in the Oneonta High School Gym. There will be lots of fun activities, including face painting and games. The intention of the S.A.D.D. "Strides for Safety" 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair is to connect community, to stay active and healthy, and to support our youth in making good choices. The money raised by this event provides financial support for local S.A.D.D. Chapters.
In response to participants the last couple of years, we have changed the times for our event - moving things a bit earlier in the day:
Registration: 9:00 - 10:30
Health Fair: 9:00 - 11:00
Race Starts: 11:00
Awards in the gym following the end of the run/walk
We offer several different options for participants to choose from:
You can choose virtual and receive an event shirt or without an event shirt. ALL virtual participants will be eligible for our random prize drawing.
You can choose to participate in person and receive a shirt or choose not to receive a shirt.
In person participants can choose whether to be eligible for the age category prizes. To be eligible for these prizes given to the 2 top finishers in each age category male and female, you must provide age and gender when you register. If you would rather not be eligible for these age category prizes, you will be eligible for some random prizes that will be drawn at the event.
